Hi there! Welcome to Currently, where we share with each other what we are Currently up to and let you share your post through the link-up below. We love this link-up, where we can make new friends and build community. Join us.

Thinking about: Ups and downs… better know as daily life.  There has been a lot of stress (work, finances, lack of childcare, conflicts) that it seems impossible sometimes to actually rise above it all and choose to accept the grace of the moment and count my blessings.  Most often, I sink into my own melodramatic negative self and stew about it all.  And to tell you the truth, it made the last week not so perrty.  I was rude, snippy and just plain disrespectful with my husband, for no other reason than he was the closest one to me when I couldn’t hold in all that had been stewed.  And instead of making me feel better, it really just made me feel worse.  But, live and learn and seek forgiveness.  Going to work on finding a better way to let go of my stress this week that doesn’t involve ugly words to my most treasured person.

Praying for: Little souls that are oh so formable.  Families that know loss, especially their Fathers.  My sweet friend Kellie.  An answer to a special petition.  And for all of you who are tired, worn and beat down today.

Listening to: My children, wildly playing with their father.  Wrestling and dragon-flying.  We just watched “How to train your dragon” this weekend since everyone is talking about the new release of the sequel. My son was in love!  Being a big fan of warriors, swords and anything “killing” related, he was delighted to see his make-believe fantasies come to life.  And now the fun lives on in our house with daily dragon-flying.

Watching: Welp, see above.  And also “How I Met Your Mother.”  Needing something light and fluffy and never watched the show when it was all the rage.  But thanks to the good-ol-Netflix, we’ve been able to catch up.  Good for a laugh and a cute story line.

Thankful for:  My husband and the special day we had today (Father’s Day).  My man is big into the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, etc.  So we headed up to Northern AZ where it was about 25 degrees cooler.  I know, a big difference from the 110’s we have been having here in Phoenix.  But I digress… so we headed out for a short hike, day camp and fishing trip to a special lake that we found on a Father’s Day adventure last year.  We made such great memories, we knew we had to go back again.  This time fishing was included and it was a blast.  The kids were so into it, and so so so excited when they could feel their line tug with the weight of a freshly caught Trout.  It’s seeing my husband in his element like that, seeing him come alive, and including our children in it, I simply adore it.  He is such a good, good man, that as a father, he just takes it to a whole ‘nother level.  I couldn’t be more thankful for the blessing he is to me and our sweet, dear children.

Life is about ups and downs… peaks and valleys.
In fact, I’m about to go scale the peak of Mt. Washmore right now.

  3. I feel like I’ve been having a lot of ups and downs in life right now too. It’s been a stressful few weeks and I’m not really sure why. I hope this week is much better!

It looks like your family had an awesome time in Northern AZ! I feel your pain on the heat. I’m in Alabama and it’s starting to be in the 90’s daily with a ton of humidity. I grew up in the north so this hot weather is always tough on me.

    • Yes, it was so perfect to get a reprieve from the heat. Hope you can do the same. It really does add to the ups and downs for me. Hoping you have a good week too!

  4. Looks like a beautiful Father’s Day! I hope this week isn’t as stressful, and you can get in that endorphin-producing exercise! I can totally relate to the crankiness ;)
I’ve also spent many hours with the HIMYM crew when I needed some light-heartedness. Do you know how it ends, or are you keeping your blinders on and watching in order?

    • Well I have heard and seen the posts of people who say they hated the ending. Bit no, I don’t know the specifics. I’m preparing myself to be disappointed. But we are only on season 1, so enjoying the laughs for now! Haha
