Coffee Time with You and Me

Hey guys! Jenna of Dearest Love and I are beyond thrilled to see you again at our coffee date!

So, what’s been going on this week?

highs.jpg

This week has been a whole lot of craziness. I have been getting cancelled a lot (see in the “lows” section), but with all of these crazy cancellations, I have been spending an amazing amount of time with the girls. It is treasure, being with them. Especially on the days where I thought I wouldn’t be with them. It is a huge blessing to snuggle and kiss and read books and go to the park and do all of those things when I thought I wouldn’t see them for a whole entire day. Truly a treasure. I love it, so so so much.

(Remind me I said all of this on the crappy days where I want to pull my hair out!)

I’ve been getting cancelled a lot (see highs on why this isn’t so bad). It kind of sucks – being in a position where you think you can help provide for your family financially and then realizing that you can’t. I am supposed to work three days a week, but when my job calls me and says, “Never mind, we don’t need you today,” it sucks. That’s income we relied on, income that was going to pay for a dance class or a soccer class or some new clothes.

It’s weird, having fluctuating income when before it was reliable. I know that all things go through ebbs and flows, so for right now, I’m going to bask in being with the girls on the days when I least expected it.

then there's you.jpg

What’s new? Was your week good, bad, mediocre? How is your prayer life? How is your family life? How is work? GIMME ALL THE DETAILS.

Thanks, kisses :)

    • Hey Robyn, I am a respiratory therapist at a hospital, so we do three days a week, 12 hour shifts. It’s fun and a great job, I just wish that we weren’t so slow right now! But yes, time with my girls is priceless :)

    • You’re so right that He’ll provide. I can’t feel anxiety about it — I know He has more in store for me than I can imagine. Speaking of which, what’s happening with that other job opportunity??

  3. I’m sorry you keep getting cancelled. I worked a job where I was pretty much on call and it was always good and bad at the same time, cause we needed the money but a day off was great.

This week has been pretty great! The only low was having to get a filling in my tooth this morning. I still can’t feel my mouth.

  5. I sort of know what you mean about a fluctuating income. My husband is an electrician and is paid hourly, which is a bummer when he gets off at noon because there’s nothing to do. I’m like, that’s great, honey, but go back to work and get paid! haha. The Lord always provides, though. I need to remember that and stop worrying. Thanks for hosting this linkup. I enjoy clicking around. Happy Friday to you!

  6. Hey! I totally didn’t get around to talking about my highs and lows this week, next coffee date… I sure have a lot of both!! :)

I’m loving these coffee dates and the currently link up, I have been meeting lots of my favorite bloggers through it so thank you (again) :)

It’s hard sometimes to focus on the moment with our kids, I just came off of a week off with my little one and today I’m feeling a little stir crazy, not to mention we could use the money (of me working a bit more) but then I have to sit back and realize how lucky I am to be able to spend this time with her. A lot of Mama’s would kill for that time!

I’m sorry your work keeps cancelling on you… seems unfair to me that they can do that? !

Hope your next week is better! See you in a couple of weeks for the next coffee date ;)

  7. i love when I get unexpected time with my kiddos but can understand the frustration of having work cancelled on me. I prefer set in stone schedules. Just easier to work with in life.
